Coursera

By the way! I dunno how many of you’ve heard of it, but there’s this awesome program called Coursera out there now. Basically, it’s free college-level courses, taught online by actual university professors. Right now it’s still in kind of a beta stage, so it’s mostly just for your own learning benefit, but certificates of completion are available, and some of the colleges that participate in the program will let you take a test for credit later on.

I bring it up both because it’s freaking amazing and anyone with some time on their hands and a will to learn but a distaste for a traditional learning environment should check it out, and because I’m taking a couple classes that started this week, and would love for people to jump in with me so I have people to copy my homework off of.

Those two classes being: Fantasy and Science Fiction: The Human Mind, Our Modern World and Introduction to Astronomy, the latter of which I signed up for in the previous session but didn’t have time for during the holidays and now appears to have started over so I’m actually doing it this time Okay so apparently that class really is over over so I’ve only got one class right now. But, Astrobiology and the Search for Extraterrestrial Life started this week and is only a 4 hour a week class so I’m thinking of taking it.

There’s also a English Composition I: Achieving Expertise class starting in a few weeks. Hint hint wink wink I feel like a lot of you would be interested in it from the discussions we’ve had :)

tldr: LEARNING :DDDDD

But no seriously there’s some awesome courses on there come check it out.
